Drop troops are required to swear an oath of celibacy after passing selection. Candidates must be without children and wives. Drop Troops have a culture of warrior monks. They study and train rigorously.
A society and nation that seek to last cannot send their husbands and fathers into the most risk-laden scenarios in war. Drop Troops are trained as young men and forged into the most elite forces of the RGF. Upon completion of their Drop Troop contract they are given options to further their careers, including an option to become a Reservist and return home to find a career and start a family. Other options include continuing service as a training Cadre or opting into becoming a Terminal Drop Trooper, with the agreement that as long as they maintain their training, they will be part of the legendary Rynn's World tithes.
As the Astartes homeworld of the Crimson Fists, Rynn's World is of the tithing grade Aptus Non - meaning they are exempt from Imperial Tithes. However - a deeply rooted sense of service and sacrifice means that there exists a small percentage of fighting men that wish to earn the privilege to be sent off world, likely to never return, to enter service in the Imperial Guard.
